Recommended Texts
◙  It is strongly recommended to get a writer's handbook, which you can find at any college bookstore or via UsedBookSearch on-line. If you already have an MLA Handbook from high school, that is fine. The College of St. Benedict/St. John's University recommends Diana Hacker's The Bedford Handbook (New York: Bedford/St. Martin's, 2006). The Bedford Handbook is excellent but expensive, so if you would prefer to save money, I recommend buying a used copy of Easy Writer: a Pocket Guide by Andrew Lunsford and Robert Conners. If you buy a used copy of Easy Writer, I advise you NOT to pay more than $20. More than $25 is a rip-off.
