Mid-Term Evaluation
 Course 
Overview/Philosophy.
   Recall the goals/objectives of our course from the General Information 
handout and that our course is divided into three sections: (1) General Skills 
including nomenclature and terminology (phytography); (2) Families; and (3) Classification.  
We are now at a good point in our studies to evaluate 
our experiences.  This will help determine the direction of the remainder of the 
semester and in many ways is a better time for an evaluation than the end of the 
semester since you will directly benefit from the results of the survey.  I will 
summarize the results and make them available to you.

	What is the one thing that you really think needs

	What do you think about the remainder of the 
	lecture topics we will cover this year?  Any others you would like to 
	cover?  What is your opinion of the remainder of the lab topics?  Others you

	What is your overall opinion of the lab 
	experience?
	
	
	 
	What did you think about the field trip labs and the 
	goal of learning local plant species?  Should we continue or 
	discontinue them?  If 
	we discontinue, then we'd also discontinue the PTK quizzes/exam.  In 
	this case, can you suggest what alternatives you'd prefer?  For 
	example, would you prefer to replace a field trip with a lab on, say using a 
	key or vegetative terminology or fruit structure?  And what sort of 
	assessment do you think is appropriate (e.g., lab practical? lab report?

	exam?  (do you think the quizzes will help in preparing you for the exam?Or,
