Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2003 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Joseph B. Ludwig, Jr., age 54, who died Tuesday at Fairview University Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, at the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Center in Richmond. The Paynesville Knights of Columbus will pray a rosary at 7:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8:00 p.m.

Joseph was born in Richmond to Joseph P. and Mary K. (Gertken) Ludwig. He married Joyce Molitor on August 8, 1970 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Rockville, MN. He took over the family farm in Richmond, where he farmed his entire life. He enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, square dancing, playing cards and spending time at the lake with his family and friends.

His wife, children and grandchildren were a very important part of his life. He was a wise, faithful, caring, strong man who enjoyed every minute of his life, despite his health conditions.

Joseph was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Koronis Nite Owls Square Dancers and Knights of Columbus Council #3820 of Paynesville.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Joyce of Richmond; sons and daughter, Larry (Lisa Donnay) of Eden Valley, Steven (Carrie Schneider) of Watkins, Cindy (Adam) Schlangen of Salol, MN, and grandchildren, Trevyn and Taylor Ludwig, Makenna Ludwig and Hunter Schlangen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sons, Thomas A. Ludwig and Mark J. Ludwig, and sister, Hildegard Ludwig.
