Wednesday at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley for Leonard
J. Torborg, 94, of 18272 Co. Rd. 43, who died Monday at Hilltop Care
Center in Watkins.
Rev. Virgil Braun will officiate and burial will be in the parish
cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at Dingmann's Eden Valley
Funeral Home. Eden Valley Senior Citizens will pray at 4:30 p.m.,
followed by St. Joseph Society at 6:30 p.m., and parish prayers at
7:00 p.m. all Tuesday at the funeral home in Eden Valley.
Leonard was born Nov. 13, 1907 in Richmond to Herman &
Anna(Kemper) Torborg. He married Martha Rothstein on May 25, 1943 at
Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. He farmed in
rural Richmond all his life.
Leonard was a member of Assumption Catholic Church where he was
an usher, former parish council member, and a member of the St.
Joseph Society. He was also a member of Eden Valley Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife, Martha of Richmond; daughters, sons,
and their spouses, Rachel & Jack Kinzer of Watkins, David &
Susan Torborg of Danville, VA, Charles & Jane Torborg of
Richmond, Linda & Ralph Leither of Cold Spring, Lou Ann &
Mike van der Hagen of Bird Island; sisters, Helen Heying, Martha
Behnen, Cora Becker, and Dorothy Brisse all of Richmond, Catherine
Stommes of St. Paul, and Sister Caroline Torborg O.S.F. of Little
Falls; 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sharon
Torborg; daughter in law, Anna Mae Torborg; sister, Phronie Behnen;
and brothers, Alphonse, Hilary, Theodore, Cyril, and Bruno Torborg.
