A big THANK YOU to Mark Thamert for an energizing and informative presentation on his innovative technology-enhanced responses to student writing!  We had a great turn-out, including some of our Hispanic Studies colleagues.  Mark will be presenting his work at the ACTFL conference next fall.

Thanks again to Mark,

Karen

Mark:

Your presentation showed ways to achieve excellence in teaching.  I sympathize and value your commitment.  I could identify myself very much with the detailed and dedicated effort this type of work involves.  At times, I have come home at 11 pm at night engaged in this activity, knowing I still had another set of 25 compositions waiting to be reviewed... I thought I was making life difficult for myself and wondered whether I was wrong in implementing that method.   I now know we are taking the right path, although painful at times.

Thank you for your ideas.  I was most impressed by your initiative to elaborate graphics showing detailed accounts of progress for each student!  That was truly revealing.  You will get very positive comments in ACTFL.  People will be impressed for sure.

 Thanks

 Marina

Dear Mark,

Thank you for all the great information!

I'm wondering if I could get a copy of one sheet which showed the result of the effect of different types of feedback (on the margin, in the end, etc).

Thank you again, and have a wonderful day!
