Biology 318 Announcements

4/8/08    For Thursday, read only to page 668.  Add pp. 670-1 to learn about how RNAi can be used.

4/1/08    For Wednesday, I'll do everything on the syllabus plus maybe some from the next day, perhaps up through p. 652.

2/13/08    I am sorry, I did some of the mutation and DNA damage stuff that was on the syllabus for today before the last exam.  Focus on the DNA repair material, that is what I'll do.

1/21/08    I have added a column to the online syllabus in which I suggest problems for each section of the reading.  These are not "assigned", I will not grade them, but they do reflect the kind of questions that I'll be asking on the exam and I'd advise you to try them.  The answers to the odd numbered ones are in the back of the book.  Also, please note that I may get ahead of the syllabus on the next three lectures (1/25, 1/29, 1/31).  I think the lecture scheduled for Feb.4 will take more than one period, so I am going to try to get through the previous three lectures a little quicker than the syllabus indicates.

1/18/08    I just updated the DNA replication notes with added material on PCR.  If you printed the notes off before today, make sure you get the PCR material too.

1/16/08    For tomorrow's class I may begin to get into the DNA replication material, so I have posted the notes for the Jan. 21, lecture, note that I have added page numbers to the syllabus for that lecture.
