(Assignments 2A and 2B address Ed 310 Outcome 24, SEPs 4C, 5A, 6H, and 9C. Assignments 2C and 2D address SEPs 6H and 9C)

Content (20 pts. possible):

(20 points) All aspects of the assignment are included and dealt with impressively. The interview(s) (and observation for 2A) are described clearly and with sufficient detail. The interviews or interview and observation are analyzed and related to course content clearly, accurately, and elaborately.

(18-19 points) All aspects of the assignment are included and dealt with adequately, but not as impressively as in the above category. The analysis of the interviews or interview and observation are accurate, but may lack the clarity, precision, or the extensive detail of a paper receiving a score of 20. Connections to course content are accurate, but may not be sufficiently extensive.

(16-17 points) Multiple components of the assignment lack sufficient detail, or there may be minor inaccuracies. The analysis of one or more aspects of the assignment may lack clarity, or connections between course content and at least one aspect of the assignment may be minimal.

(14-15 points) A part of the assignment may be completely neglected; multiple aspects may be very lacking in detail, or there may be many inaccuracies. Connections between course content and multiple assignment aspects may be minimal.

(10-13 points) Multiple parts of the assignment are neglected or dealt with only minimally. Major inaccuracies may be present, or connections to class material are virtually nonexistent.

(9 points or below) The paper does not correspond to the assignment, contains many major inaccuracies, or neglects multiple aspects of the assignment.

Writing (10 pts. possible):

(10 points) The paper is quite well written. There are essentially no mechanical errors, nor are there problems with grammatical usage, sentence structure, or word choice. The paper is very well organized, and it is a pleasure to read because of its clarity and elegant style.

(8 or 9 points) The paper is generally well written. Mechanical errors are minor and/or few in number. Problems with grammatical usage, sentence structure, and word choice are minimal. The paper is generally well organized, though the writing may lack the clarity found in the above category, or some awkward wording may be present. Therefore, the paper’s style may lack the elegance of those in the above category.

(5-7 points) The paper is coherent, but has numerous and/or major errors in mechanics, grammatical usage, or word choice. There may be multiple incomplete or run-on sentences, and the paper may read quite awkwardly or have major problems with organization and clarity.

(4 points and below) The paper is so poorly written that it is difficult to follow. It may contain non-sequiturs as well as gross problems in mechanics, grammatical usage, word choice, and sentence structure. Organization may be so poor as to make the paper incoherent.
